Book

I am so sad Maeve Binchy passed away this summer — she is my favourite author

Today is my favourite day of the year.  Not specifically October 23rd.  But the most wonderful thing happened overnight.

It snowed.

Now, many of you out there are going to throw your hands up in the air and say, “What’s wrong with that girl?”  But think about it.  You’ve just woken up from a deep sleep (albeit to the sound of a blaring alarm clock).  You rub your eyes, throw back the covers and take a moment to sit on the edge of the bed.  You need to convince yourself that you do need to go to work.  Because you do need to buy groceries.  Because you do need to buy your daughter winter boots.  Because you are a princess and you like princess things.

You shuffle your way to the bathroom and turn on the radio.

“Take caution today driving in those winter conditions.”

Adrenaline courses through your veins as you fly to the window and throw back the window covering (which right now, due to house renovations, is an old “High School Musical” bed sheet).

And there it is.

A cozy white snowy blanket covering the lawn.  Today is my favourite day of the year.  The kind of day you want to curl up on the couch under a warm blanket and work on a knitting project, watch a movie . . . or read a good book.

Unfortunately it is a work day and I cannot fully indulge in the wonderfulness of this day.

But I can dream about it.

Do you love the changing seasons too?
