Day 40 of 365 . . . prompt word: candle light
Tonight was a rather rushed evening. Bible study and then home to finish some planning for an event our ladies group at church is doing on Saturday. I was frantically sending emails and lists. Trying to jot things down as they came to me. I had already forgotten the calm peacefulness of the picture for the day. A moment lost in the hurriedness of the rest of my evening.
While on the computer there was a loud knock at the front door.
My husband rushed to put on pants as I hurried to the door. I shooed my dog up the stairs (he always has to say hello) and opened the door. There was nobody there. I looked around and saw nobody. And then I saw a Halloween bag sitting on the front step. I took another look into the darkness and saw no one. I cautiously picked up the bag and peered inside. I saw three cans of pop and some Halloween treats. There was a sheet of paper so I pulled it out and this is what it said:
The air is cool, the season fall, soon Halloween will come to all. With ghosts and goblins, spooks galore, Trick-or-treaters at the door.
The spooks are after things to do. In fact, a spook brought this to you! The treats that come with this short note are yours to keep. Enjoy them both!
Excitement grows when friends like you will copy it, and make it two. Neighbours will have smiling faces: None can guess who “BOOed” which places.
A day or two to work your spell, but keep it hidden! Hide it well! Join the fun; the season’s here. So spread these “BOOs” — and share the cheer!
The directions are from http://organizedchristmas.com — I can’t wait to BOO someone else. It really made my day!
What fun things do you like to do for Halloween?
P.S. Don’t tell my husband I let you know he was sitting around in his underwear. I don’t think he reads my blog (shocker . . . I know!) — shhhhhhhhhhhhh!
